The Training, Education and Job Advancement Center (TEDJAC) is an institution that prepares adults for work in high-demand and high-quality employment sectors.
Currently, there are tremendous opportunities for our residents in health care, construction, building management and hospitality. We have built-and continue to build-collaborative relationships with organizations, businesses and skills-training providers, so we can tailor our program to meet the needs that are in-demand and highly coveted by employers today.
Our employment-training model distinguishes TEDJAC from other training programs. Lena Park is uniquely positioned to help adults take advantage of training opportunities. We serve as a true catalyst: We have recruited top-of-the-line job trainers; we connect them with community members to build lasting relationships with area employers. Most importantly, we create individual development plans for each training participant that build-in the support each individual needs to complete the program successfully and to secure and maintain steady employment. Additional support systems include childcare, literacy, life coaching, and long-term follow-up. We also help participants access psychological and medical care, as well as food support through a formal referral network of community partners.
Lena Park is also partnering with area employers to make sure that jobs await our graduates. Some of our program partners include: Callahan Construction, Winn Residential, New England Regional Council of Carpenters and Biltright. In addition, we have secured commitments to hire training participants from our construction and property management partners. Through this, we are making sure that low-income families benefit from the $180 million investment in our community made through the Olmsted Green development.
