Board of Directors

Lena Park is governed by a diverse five-member volunteer board of directors that offers a combination of personal experience, commitment, and skills in its approach to governing Lena Park. Our board members represent business, administration, management, social services, medicine, and the law.


David Wright - Chairperson
Born and raised in Roxbury, David Wright is a native Bostonian. A product of Boston Public schools, he is a graduate of both the Boston Latin School and holds degrees from Harvard College, cum laude, and Harvard Law. Mr. Wright is a bar certified attorney with extensive experience in litigation, contract, and employment law. Mr. Wright has also served as a consultant for the Boston Capacity Tank where he specialized in Board Development, Organizational Development, and Strategic Planning for community and faith based organizations.

Margaret Woolley Busse - Interim Treasurer Clerk
Ms. Busse has a strong background in the public and nonprofit sector, first with the U.S. Treasury Department and later with Community Development Financial Institutions Fund. Most recently, Ms. Busse has worked as a consultant for Bridgespan Group, a nonprofit consulting firm.

William Contente - Chairman Emeritus
Mr. Contente is a corporate lawyer and the managing partner of Gesmer Updegrove LLP, a Boston law firm. Bill represents a diverse group of corporate clients, including a variety of internet-based companies, computer hardware and software companies, medical device companies, venture capital firms and consulting firms. His clients rely on his extensive experience in domestic and international licensing, "angel" and venture capital financing, structuring distribution and development arrangements and mergers and acquisitions. Bill is a director of the Launchpad Venture Group and a director of MassMEDIC's Enterprise Development Resource Center. He served as Chairman of the Board of Lena Park CDC from 1997 through 2002.

Mark A. Arnold
Mr. Arnold holds a Ph.D from Harvard University, an MDiv from Princeton Theological Seminary and a BSEE from Stanford University.  Mr. Arnold is engaged in a number of community initiatives and programs.  Currently, he is employed by Thermo Fisher Scientific, world leader in serving science and is an associate minister at Morning Star Baptist Church.  Mr. Arnold is a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.  He lives in Dorchester with his wife Christy, son Noah and cat Akira.

Mark Hardmon
Mr. Hardmon has previous years of experience managing a Program Management Organization.  Mr. Hardmon's major accomplishments are sponsoring the successfully completion of ISO 9000 certification, development of a new stramlined product development lifecycle process created executive dashboards for monitoring projects execution and leading strategic planning activities.  Mr. Hardmon has worked for several Fortune 500 companies such as Motorola, Hewlett-Packard (Medical Product Group), Raytheon and two smaller companies.  He has a MBA from Southern New Hampshire University and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University.  Mr. Hardmon is married and has three children, two girls and a boy.  He enjoys fitness training, golfing and outdoor activities.  Mr. Hardmon is active in the community and his church.
